Second Annual Magic City Brewfest just around the corner!

Just got word a couple of days ago via the Free The Hops monthly newsletter that plans are underway for the Second Annual Magic City Brewfest! WHOOT!! I went up last year for the innaugural beer blast, and had an awesome time. Unless the evil beer spirts work against me, I'll be there with a vengance again this year, this time getting a hotel room so that I can hopefully try each and every one of the fest's offerings.

From the newsletter (signup details later in this post btw):

We're now planning the festival, but we are already confirmed for a two-day event. The first session will be the evening of May 31. The second session will be the afternoon of Sunday, June 1. We are expecting a larger turnout this year, which means we will need more volunteers. Volunteering is a lot of fun and it helps us by reducing costs. It also makes for a better festival when we have more true beer lovers running the show... and if you volunteer for one session, you get into the other session for free as well as getting a natty t-shirt to remember the day!
If you live in the Birmingham area and would like to volunteer for this event, please visit FreeTheHops.org and drop Stuart Carter, FTH President, an email. He would love to have you volunteer and you'll absolutely love the beerfest!

Here is my post from last year's trek, this year I'll try to get some better photos of the event, but while a picture is worth a thousand words...a sip of the day's offerings is worth a million pictures. Get the kids a sitter, pack up the car, and head to the Brewfest. You'll have a great time, and the proceeds go to a great cause, ending the prohibition era alcohol laws in Alabama and hopefully bringing us one more step into the 21st century. Maybe we'll be there soon, though I imagine another century will roll around and we'll always be 100 years behind the rest of the world.

Bastards.
