Brew Review #11
Even after having "sampled" 5 other brews and 1 habenero stuffed olive...this mongrel reaches up and grabs your attention! It has a wonderful aroma, very complex malty smell, with hoppiness dancing away in there somewhere. It's carbonation is good, holding a rocky head on the brew.
The taste is quite strong for a porter, but it is an Imperial I guess. Very roasty tasting. Very very roasty tasting. I'm guessing the deep rich taste is meant to hide the alcohol content of this beer. I don't have a clue what that actually is (haven't looked it up and it's not on the bottle)...but I think it's quite strong!
As I have said, my senses are somewhat dulled from previous beers, but this one still works it's way into the sensations somehow...and it's not really that pleasant. I have 2 more of these beasts....so when I try one "off the bat" should my perceptions be any different, I'll come back and amend this review. This beer is drinkable, but you wouldn't want to sit down and have 4 or 5 of them. They definately aren't sesson beers! :-)
