Brew Review #16
Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale (2006-2007 edition)

This is a medium dark brew, a touch darker than a Pale Ale I'd say, with good malty/licorace/molasses aroma. Typical carbonation for an English Ale also in my opinion. It has a nice full taste, heavier on the malt end and lighter on the hop end, but still in balance...just more of an English style balance then the American "citrus" hop flavor profile that I'm accustomed to.
This is a good brew, and hopefully I'll get this one as a gift year after year (Thanks Jackie and Larry! Nice Christmas present!)
550ML, 6.0% ABV
