Brew Review #24

Hobgoblin Dark English Ale by Wychwood

This 500ML bottle of Dark English Ale packs a pretty good whallup in both the malt and hop departments. The lable says this ale is "full bodied and well balqanced with a chocolate toffee malt flavour, moderate bitterness and a distinctive fruity character with a ruby red glow." I'll agree with that, but I would also add in that the English hop character is well expressed in the brew, and if you're a fan of these earthy hops, you will probably like this beer.

I've had both this Wychwood concoction and also their Fiddler's Elbow, and have enjoyed them both. Nice props to the brewery, they might just earn their place in my beer'pinion with Stone Brewery before it's over with!
